Workers, retirees and those shut out of an economy that is only working for the 1% are needed to DOWNLOAD THE FLYER, attend and help build a crowd for a Workers’ Rally in Columbus, OH on the morning of Friday, August 21. The #DefendTheDream Rally is to protest the national gathering of the extreme right-wing group called Americans for Prosperity (Koch Brothers) and their anti-worker agenda to make “Right to Work” Is Wrong the law of Ohio and the entire country.
Americans for Prosperity is holding its national Summit at the Columbus Convention Center and one of the conference sessions is entitled, “Right to Work: Understanding the Case for Worker Freedom of Choice.” With several high-profile presidential hopefuls and office holders already confirmed to speak at this Summit, including U.S. Senator Rob Portman, we need to send a very clear message that Ohioans reject this anti-worker message and any candidate that is associated with this extreme agenda.
While on the public space on the west side of the Convention Center we will hold a short speaking program and rally to “Defend the American Dream“. DOWNLOAD THE FLYER
Workers and retirees who still believe in workers’ rights and #IncomeEquality will be meeting at 9am at McFerson Commons (218 West St.) and will begin our march to #DefendTheDream at 10am. While inside the Columbus Convention Center, extremists will be talking about ideas to destroy what is left of our middle class, but on the streets we will be rallying to say #RightToWorkIsWrong!
