Working people to speak up together against harmful agenda of billionaire-funded group
Hundreds of working people from across Ohio will descend upon the planned Americans for Prosperity conference in Columbus on Friday to protest the harmful agenda that the billionaire-funded group continues to push in the state.
“We are speaking up against AFP’s agenda of cutting wages, endangering workers and making it harder for working people to get ahead and sustain their families,” said AFL-CIO President Tim Burga. “This group pushes an incredibly hurtful agenda that will make our economy less stable and put workers in danger with policies like a so called “right to work” law, a repeal of the prevailing wage and other policies that impede working people’s ability to pursue the real American dream,” Burga said.
Participants at the rally will also call out Ohio politicians, including Senator Rob Portman, who are supporting AFP and advancing its anti-working people agenda.
The rally will begin at McFerson Commons at 10:00 AM where a speaking program and rally will take place. Hundreds of working people will then make their way to the Columbus Convention Center where AFP is holding its conference.
