Working Ohioans Lost A True Friend in Larry “Lefty” Sanders

It is with deep regret that I inform you of the passing of our brother, Larry “Lefty” Sanders.  Brother Sanders passed Saturday morning and will be severely missed by all who knew him.  I had the privilege of knowing Lefty for 50 years and was proud to call him a great friend and a premier trade unionist.  Brother Sanders leaves a great legacy of successfully fighting to make life better for working people and those that needed a hand up.  In addition to being a Firefighter and Safety Director for the City of Marion, Lefty was the Legislative Director for the Ohio AFL-CIO until his retirement in 2002.  Please read the following partial obituary for information about the memorial service and keep Brother Sanders and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Visitation will be Friday, June 26, 2020 at Snyder Funeral Homes, GUNDER/HALL Chapel, 347 West Center St., Marion from 3PM to 6PM; Lefty would want everyone that comes to be in casual attire, preferably a Hawaiian shirt! The family understands some may wish not to come in person but express their condolences from afar during this time of social distancing, condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting here
